Trailer Living: What she said {my momma}

Mom took a moment to write about why in heaven’s name she’s embarking on this crazy adventure of ours…

WHY would I want to move into a 40’ trailer with my 30 year old daughter you might ask.

For me, it’s all about redemption and healing.

For those who know a bit of our families story, that will make sense to you.  For those who don’t, you will understand when Holly finishes her book.  A book that’s pages will unfold a story of survival, tenacity and strong hearts set to overcome adversity. You will weep, be filled with rage, gasp, laugh and marvel.

The real life setting?  A travel trailer.  31 Feet.  Nine people.  One large dog.  Always, the dog.

You see, sometimes you have to visit the past and conquer the evil that resides there in order to redeem your heart.  That’s victory!  It’s closure.  That’s when healing begins.  There are no more limits.  You are free to move forward in peace.

This move is for us. Holly and I.  Mother and daughter; alike in many ways but so very different.  Our differences have caused us to fight for our relationship. We are both strong women.  Stubborn.  Intelligent.  Gifted with words.  We can hurt each other deeply.  We have.

We offer forgiveness before it’s asked for.  We walk in humility understanding the deep scars we each bear.  We extend grace when it’s not deserved.  Love covers lots of failures.  Love wins. Every time.  Love is a choice.  We choose love.

Holly has been my champion when the days were so dark I didn’t think I could take another breath.  Her courage and steadfastness was the wind beneath my wings.  She is my hero in so many ways.

Inspiring.

Beautiful.

Complete.

It’s an honor to be her mother.  It’s humbling to walk this journey with her.

She is my daughter.

She is my best friend.

 Together, we will face giants and we will be more than conquerors through Jesus.

Let the journey begin!
