Trailer Living: Generosity in the form of septic chemicals

Let’s be frank.

When you live in an RV, you need chemicals for the septic tank. And sometimes they stay on your list for a freakishly long time because “septic tank chemicals” aren’t found in your local grocery store. And when you’re me, the grocery store is basically the only place you shop. Because you hate shopping.

Anyway.

Yesterday was the day I decided to stop at Explore USA (RV Super Center!) on my way to campus. Yesterday was the day for septic tank chemicals. And this is what happened:

A man held the door open for me.

He asked me what he could do to help. I told him what I needed, but realized that the store doesn’t retail RV supplies.

No matter.

I’ll send you home with some, he said, and he disappeared, leaving me to wait by a pile of business cards. Business cards that read: Ambassador of Fun.

He came back with a bag of septic tank chemicals and gave me instructions.

Take them, he said.

Are you sure? I questioned.

He was certain. Let me give you a business card.

Are you an ambassador of fun? I asked.

I’m the owner. That’s why I can give you these. I could give you an RV.

I told him I already had an RV, that I just needed chemicals.

I thanked him.

And when I need an RV, guess where I’ll go?

Back to Brian.

Because he gave me septic tank chemicals.
