Because life.

And now *Skye will illustrate for you how life can be holy.freaking.awesome and then not. In one day.

Christmas morning began for Skye much like many of her mornings (OK, maybe all of them): on a leather couch.

Late Christmas afternoon, she was asked to get off the leather couch. She obliged. And went to sleep on the rolled-up handwoven Tibetan rug in the dining room.

Christmas night she got sprayed in the face by a skunk. She slept in the outdoor kennel with a pan of water, food and a sleeping pad. Early this morning, it rained.

We’ve probably all had days like Skye’s – when your leather couch turns into a sleeping pad on a concrete slab. And you’re metaphorically (or literally) left out in the rain.

Skye would like you to know that {after two baths of a hydrogen peroxide/baking soda/dish soap conconction} every little thing is gonna be alright.

{And Skye’s human would like you to know that on a perfectly good day made catastrophically worse by picking up a sleeve of 100 plastic cups to discover that BOTH ENDS are actually open – hey. Every little thing is really gonna be alright.}

*Skye = one of my German shepherds. She’s a beautiful (maybe the most?) black sable European-bred GSD who weights about 85 pounds. She’s not much short of royalty, or so she thinks.
