The roof! The roof! The roof is on fi … finished.
Today I followed the old saying, “Make hay while the sun shines,” or in my case, “Spread that elastromeric rubberized roof sealant while it’s 70 degrees outside three days before Christmas and before the rain comes in tomorrow.”
So that’s what I did.
And not just its second coat, but also its third and final.
Yeah. I was on tip-toeing (toing?) on the roof. No one else was home. If I’d have fallen off, no one would’ve known until Mom arrived home later in the evening, unless I’d have managed through my concussion and broken arms to remove my phone from my pocket and dial 9-1-1. #overactiveimagination
But that didn’t happen. I did not fall off.
In fact, I made three successful trips up there. Two for the elastromeric rubberized roof sealant and one for this:
There’s rain coming. y’all. One can never be too safe from rain leaking through cracks in your roof. Oh, and that is not a tarp. It’s the floor of my former tent, which I repurposed after the tent was destroyed.
To recap the roof’s progress:
In addition to the roof, I finished painting most of the interior (sans bathroom) and stained the wooden base of the bed, along with hanging cabinet doors and reinstalling drawers.
Here’s a peak into the bedroom:
And a little reminder of its journey:
So that’s a wrap for today.
Move in: 24 days away.
